Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at parentpathwaysaz@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The mission of Parent Pathways-Advocacy, Autism & Beyond is to strengthen families and promote a healthy community by providing resources, education, and support.

Parent Pathways is a family-focused organization that empowers parents and caregivers of autistic children through advocacy, habilitation support, and practical training. We walk alongside families as they navigate services like the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and more.

We primarily support parents and caregivers of children on the autism spectrum, especially those seeking help with accessing services, understanding their rights, and becoming stronger advocates for their children.

We offer:

  • 💬 One-on-one coaching for IEP and DDD meetings

  • 📚 Parent advocacy training

  • 🧩 Habilitation support and education

  • 🧠 Workshops and resources focused on understanding autism, behavior strategies, and more

  • 🤝 Connections to community services and local events
  • and so much more!

Yes! We offer in-person or virtual support for DDD planning meetings and school IEP meetings. We’re here to help you feel confident, heard, and prepared — whether that means reviewing documents, helping you ask the right questions, or simply being a calming presence in the room.

Habilitation is a service that helps children with developmental disabilities — including autism — build new skills for daily life. This can include things like:

  • Communication and language development

  • Social skills (like sharing, taking turns, or recognizing emotions)

  • Personal care (brushing teeth, getting dressed, toileting)

  • Safety awareness (like crossing the street safely)

  • Managing routines and transitions

The goal is to teach and reinforce skills that will help your child become more independent over time — at home, at school, and in the community.

🧠 Think of habilitation as "coaching for life skills."

A trained provider works with your child (and sometimes with you, too) in structured or natural environments to help them learn new behaviors, routines, or tasks step by step.

Some of our services are offered at no cost, and others may have a small fee or sliding scale. We’re committed to making support accessible and affordable. Reach out to discuss your family’s needs — we’ll work with you to find the best option.

Parent Pathways-Advocacy, Autism & Beyond serves individuals and families of all ages, from young children to seniors.

You can fill out our quick contact form on our website or email us directly. We’ll reach out to learn more about your family and how we can help.
